The Potter’s House Celebrates the Semiquincentennial

Two hundred and fifty years ago, a determined group of freedom-loving colonists battled the forces of tyranny to claim their God-given rights. On July 4, 2026, the residents of Clifton Heights stood firm against another adversary — a punishing heat wave — to celebrate that hard-won freedom in the streets. While neighboring communities canceled their events, Clifton held fast to its plans, and the semiquincentennial parade was a wonderful success.

Our church proudly participated in this celebration with two floats and a large group of walkers. The first float featured George Washington and his soldiers crossing the Delaware River, as Lady Columbia led them to victory. The second float was a children's birthday party for America, complete with cone hats and noisemakers. Many people in matching T-shirts walked behind the floats, distributing American flags with church invitations.

When the parade concluded, the Potter’s House won first and second place trophies for the floats.

It was a delight to share joy and patriotism with our neighbors. We are all fortunate to live in this bountiful country, which was founded with faith in our Creator, and refined through the pursuit of His righteousness. God has blessed us, and let us never forget that we owe Him everything.
