Services and Programs
Worship Service
There are three worship services a week: Sunday morning at 11:00, Sunday evening at 6:00, and Thursday evening at 7:00. These are not repetitions of the same worship service, but rather a new and different service each time. The service begins with music, which is usually a mix of contemporary songs and older hymns. This is followed by an opening prayer, greetings, announcements, an offering, and a sermon. After the sermon, an appeal is made for those who aren't following Christ to come to the altar and turn to Him. Then others who feel the need to pray are invited to the altar to quietly talk to God. Following this, there may be group prayers for specific needs. The service ends with a closing prayer.
Most church members dress up, but casual clothes are perfectly fine and not out of place.
Bible Study
There is a Bible study every Sunday morning at 10:00. Different topics are discussed in series which last several weeks each. Throughout the discourse, questions and comments are welcome from everyone in attendance.
Children's Church
Children's Church is held downstairs after the song service on Sunday mornings (around 11:15). All children between the ages of 5 and 12 are welcome. There are always two to three adults teaching the class at a time, and these teachers rotate every two weeks. Scripture is taught through short lessons, games, crafts and puppet shows.
Nursery
Nursery is open for all children from babies to age four on Sunday mornings after the song service (around 11:15). There are always at least two nursery workers on duty, The nursery is bright, colorful, and fun. It is a safe, happy place for little ones to play while their parents focus on spiritual needs.
Prayer Meetings
Prayer meetings are held at the building every morning from 6:30 to 7:30. There are also prayer meetings one hour before the Sunday evening and Thursday evening services.
Men's Classes
Once a month, there is a men's class which is attended by our local congregation as well as visitors from other Mid-Atlantic churches. Guest pastors teach these classes, which are aimed at training men in virtue and biblical character. There is a light breakfast served before the seminar. All men (and older boys) are welcome.
Women's Fellowship
An area-wide women's fellowship takes place about once every three months in the fellowship hall. Food is provided, and this is a time for conversation and friendship. There are also games (such as Bible Pictionary). Women can take a break from their busy lives to relax and have fun in each other's company.
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
